Write an Impactful Research Paper
I have been reading Write an Impactful Research Paper by Martins Zaumanis. This is a fascinating book, while I am not a graduate or even doing post grad work, this book is really informative.
The author is sharing lots of really useful hints and tips from personal experience of publishing, There is a link to both the publisher and the book below.
I would recommend this book as part of your collection as there are also links to cheat sheets which when taken within the context of the book could be really useful. I say this as cheat sheets are a summary of what is in the book, so reading associated chapters does make sense.
As you are trying to get your research reviewed and published, then it is not worth cutting corners. You can print off the cheat sheets and display for reference.
If anyone is interested, then I can bring my copy to the STEM group, but if you want one, you need to buy your own.;

Light sails
Interstellar travel could be getting closer. This paper (or at least a link to it) was posted on to the Fediverse.
Broadband, High-Reflectivity Dielectric Mirrors at Wafer Scale: Combining Photonic Crystal and Metasurface Architectures for Advanced Light sails
Sounds promising and at present does seem smaller spacecraft can be moved in this way, but it is a start. Good possibilities for future research and use.
I will download and read this paper later.

The contribution of the modern amateur astronomer to the science of astronomy
A link to this paper was posted to the Fediverse, so i am sharing here, I am currently reading this and it is interesting.
Science really does open up possibilities and anyone can contribute

Paper model DNA
Creating visual models can be very beneficial educationally, while you can do this using software and view in on screen, sometimes building by hand can be very beneficial, and perhaps therapeutic too. If you are studying biology then DNA plays a part in this subject, so building a model of the DNA molecule (or part of it) is useful PDB101 has a nice paper model of this, which we can look at building at a future STEM Group meeting at Paignton Library.
In the meantime you can still use Rasmol and OpenRasMol to visualise molecules and other structures.

Open Access Video
This is an interesting video on open access to research. Making research papers cheaper and easier to access for people.

Abundances in Przybylski's star
( per-zib-ill-skee)
This looks like a really interesting paper, published on Oxford Academic [1], examining, what appears to be the unusual composition of Przybylski's star [2]. According to Wikipedia [3]* is in the “Southern constellation of Centaurus”
- See [4] for a better reference.
There seems to be quite a few heavier element detected.
