New Superconductive Materials Have Just Been Discovered
Article in wired about new superconductive materials. This is interesting, even though the potential of these discoveries are still to be realised. At a basic level of understanding we have conductors and insulators, then we have materials such as semiconductors, then we find that under certain conditions the conductive properties can change further. So a excellent time to get in to science, but sometimes a person studying or working in a completely different area may see the potential in this.

Home heating alternatives
Interesting video showing an activity to investigate which sort of materials are good at thermal storage. Read more here
This is the sort of thing that we can try at a future STEM group meeting
As this was found on the Fediverse, please see the related fedi thread

Wind turbine blades could someday be recycled into sweet treats
Interesting article on New wind turbine technology that is more sustainable and allows old turbines to be disposed of and recycled. This is an important step forward as waste is still a big problem so finding more environmentally friendly with producing green energy makes that greener and better for the environment.
Also included a link to Science Forums to discuss further, again please link directly to the original article.

Manganese could make luminescent materials and the conversion of sunlight more sustainable
Sounds like an interesting development. You can read more on Science Daily [2]. I think the significant part of this discovery is that Manganese [2] is cheaper and more readily available. Please feel free, to open a thread on Discourse [3] in order to discuss further.
