Minecraft Pi Edition revival

It looks like there are moves to revive the Minecraft Pi edition that came with earlier versions of the Raspberry Pi OS Raspbian.

So far, there is a github repository for this.

I have no more information, however, I first read about this on the Luanti Matrix channel, so that may be a good place to at least discuss further.
