More Trinket Coding
Trinket is a web based development platform. One of it's features is the programming language blocks, which is in fact a block based front end and creates Python programs.
I am sharing these on my blog today, even though I also shared earlier in the week on LinkedIn and also on Twitteras part of the Paignton Library Virtual Code Club.

I am working on a book to update my previous Nested loops guide I wrote a few years ago. This needed updating anyway so it would cover Scratch 3.0. This book / guide is work in progress, and will be typeset in $\LaTeX$ using Overleaf

Big Blue Button
The Covid 19 lock down has given me more of a chance to look at the Big Blue Button, open source video conferencing platform.
As part of this, you can create a 'room' invite attendees, upload presentations (pdf) and also share your screen so the system is ideal for teaching groups of people or having virtual meetings. It also has webcam and microphone support.

Free Code Camp update 7/5/2020
I have now completed the CSS module of Free Code Camp responsive web design.
So now completed the last few exercises in the CSS module and therefore 2 of the modules as illustrated blow
So next next module is Applied Visual Design

Malaria Treatment
Even though we are in a global Covid 19 pandemic, it does not mean other important discoveries are not being made.
The BBC reported on May 4th that a microbe has been found that can block Malaria [1]. This is an important discovery, as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) article [2] suggests that Malaria killed 405,000 people i 2018.
Discoveries such as this, surely give the world hope that a treatment for Covid-19 will eventually be found. It also highlights the importance of research and proper funding for research.

Creating a write freely blog
Creating a blog post on a writefreely instance is a case of:
Logging in to your account, after which you are simply presented with your page where you can start typing.
Add a title, then the main body of your post.
I sometimes add a list of links, which relate to any items mentioned in my post. I then add a list of tags. Under that I usually have a sort of footer, which has copyleft information both in text and a graphic.
To add a picture you need to add some markdown which points to the location of the image.
For the purpose of this, I am creating a draft, however once the post is finished, clicking on draft at the top, will allow me to 'publish to' a blog hosted by my account. Write freely allows for multiple blogs from the same login. Which is helpful for different subjects or topics for example.

Free Code Camp update 6/5/2020
Today, 6th May, I completed a few more activities for the CSS component of Responsive Web Design.
This puts me on 36/44 activities and therefore 81% of the way through this module.

Imagine This Covid 19 activities
During the current Covid 19 pandemic lock down, many normal activities for children and young people in Torbay are cancelled, nevertheless, some of the organisations which form the 'Imagine This' partnership are still able to offer some services online or remotely some are offering new services.
