Paper model DNA
Creating visual models can be very beneficial educationally, while you can do this using software and view in on screen, sometimes building by hand can be very beneficial, and perhaps therapeutic too. If you are studying biology then DNA plays a part in this subject, so building a model of the DNA molecule (or part of it) is useful PDB101 has a nice paper model of this, which we can look at building at a future STEM Group meeting at Paignton Library.
In the meantime you can still use Rasmol and OpenRasMol to visualise molecules and other structures.

Artemis 1 – Mission part 4
The planned Artemis launch for Saturday 3rd September has been scrubbed due to the Hydrogen leak problem
There other launch windows so NASA will try again on the next available date.
These missions are not easy, it is a case of trying to find out what is causing the problem, fixing it and trying again.

Making chemical solutions
An important part of Chemistry is the ability to make up solutions of a known concentration. This can sound quite complex, however it doesn't need to be.
The following is some simple instructions that will produce 250m of 1molar concentration of Sodium Chloride
I have made this solution up using pure Sodium Chloride, from a chemical supplier [1], rather than table salt which contains Sodium Ferrocyanide. If you need extra help with this try asking on Science forums [2] as there is a section on there for home chemistry.
I am also on the IRCNow network, where we are starting up a channel to discuss amateur / home science.
