Creative Education: Spot the Warning Signs of Poor Mental Health
Spot the Warning Signs of Poor Mental Health

Completed another Creative Education course today. This is an excellent course, mostly a summary of some of the key points / advice covered in previous courses. So what to look out for to spot signs a child may be having issues with mental heath, changes in their behaviour, physical appearance, interests and hobbies or perhaps their academic performance is going higher, due to them trying very hard not to fail, (so opposite extreme to their academic performance falling) trying to please self and others too much.
So some really good advice here.
I just wish I could WORK somewhere and make use of this.

Mumble
To set up push to talk on Mumble. Click Configure –> Settings then under the audio tab select push to talk

You need to set up a short cut
Configure —> Settings.
Then add a short cut, here I am using the windows key.

Once this is set up you get a push to talk window, so you can either press this or press the key on the keyboard.

OpenLearn : Childhood in the digital age
I have just started a 12 hour OpenLearn course, Childhood in the digital age. However I really need to be working in a school to do this course as the first activity asks
What do you think? How might technology hinder children’s physical, social and cognitive development, and how might it provide exciting opportunities for learning?
Make a note of you thoughts at the start of this course. Use a notebook or digital notepad that you can refer back to at a later date.
So while I can answer the question. I would really like to answer this and other course activities, following discussion with children / young people and teachers, in order to help me answer this with an informed and evidence based approach.
I may therefore defer going any further until I am able to do this. Adds value to working as a TA if I can also use this as a way to help with OU Open Learn courses.
In the meantime I am open to offers of employment.

LibreOffice : The New Generation

In late January, we announced LibreOffice New Generation, which focuses on bringing younger contributors into our projects and communities. We’ve had many discussions in our Telegram group since then, and today we’re announcing our first finished project: a LibreOffice flyer for schools and universities:

Fosdem talk: Radio Astronomy
I attended a few of the talks at FOSDEM 2021 [1]. The talk on Virgo: A Versatile Spectrometer for Radio Astronomy [2] was interesting, as I am developing more of an interest in space science.
I am linking to the talk information page and the recordings of the talks below.
Worth watching, as it is interesting what is currently being undertaken.
