More interesting findings about the early universe, I guess some of this makes sense as one of the 4 fundamental forces is Electromagnetic forces.
This research findings are detailed here. So if I understand this correctly, the early universe processes had that were had electrically charged dust particles, these produced magnetic fields as they moved around by the radiation from the 2nd generation of stars.
The Hubble Telescope has measured the size of our nearest Earth-sized exoplanet. The planet orbits the star LTT 1445A, which is part of a triple system of three red dwarf stars that is 22 light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.
Future space telescopes could be made from thin membranes, unrolled in space to enormous size
Interesting article on the future of space telescopes so the idea seems interesting as it allows deployment of large telescopes in space quickly.
The JWST is 6.5 meters, the ELT is 39 meters (ground based) as the JWST is foldable then the technology is already there.
This could offer some real opportunity to make strides forward, as we have seen with the JWST. Larger telescopes allow for the collection of more light, I would guess that telescopes can be built to collect different light e.g. UV, Visible and IR.
Protein design aims to create customized antibodies for therapies, biosensors for diagnostics, or enzymes for chemical reactions. An international research team has now developed a method for designing large new proteins better than before and producing them with the desired properties in the laboratory.
The Young Coders competition
This year's theme is “Budgeting Better”
Each year, children are challenged to make a game using the visual coding tool 'Scratch', that aligns with a particular theme. This year the challenge is to create a game using Scratch to teach other children about "Budgeting Better".
Imagine creating games that teach your friends how to save, spend, and manage money wisely. Imagine building a game where players can work and save up for their dream toy, go on shopping adventures, or even start their own business. The more creative and fun your game, the better!
Great piece of writing, looks at how we have changed our approach to critical thinking and how this impacts on our ability to read, comprehend information so we can understand facts. The ability to read and comprehend is important in a world of misinformation,
The International Space Station is visible this week, details of visible passes for South Devon can be found on the Heavens Above website. You will need to adjust the settings, but if you are in South Devon you should be able to get details for your location.
While I am mostly interested in science, I think this sort of thing is worth sharing, as these devices are probably really useful for building devices that can help with scientific research.
The pine64 devices include some that are powered by the RISCV processor, which I have made posts about before. It is now possible to emulate one of the processors so that projects can be developed without having direct access to the hardware (this is how I understand this). You can read about the Sophgo SG2000 SoC (Pine64 Oz64 / Milk-V Duo S)
