Training update 3
I am slowly working through a SEND diploma course with New Skills Academy. As it is currently Anti Bullying week, I am undertaking a series of courses through the Anti Bullying Alliance
As of today 15/11/2022 I have completed :-
Course 1 : What is Bullying Course 2 : Bullying and the Law Course 3: The 10 key principles
There are about 10+ short courses in total, so will work through at least one per day, or at least aim to do this.
All this training is really proving beneficial, and is leading to me finding lots of really useful resources, so hopefully I can use these in schools.

On Monday 21st, I am due to start a course with Aspire Education Academy, which covers the following qualifications:-
This is designed to help people back in to work / employment.
However i am currently employed as a supply teaching assistant (just not working enough hours). I am therefore more than happy to undertake temporary supply work, which is actually a really good way to gain experience in different schools, share ideas, share expertise and build a wide range of skills.
So just a few of the recently completed courses.
So basically a fully quaffed TA.

Scratch how_to videos
I have been working on some short how to videos for Scratch. These are designed to cover specific tasks, such as sprite effects, choosing background etc.
The idea is to use at Code Club and perhaps in schools to help people new to Scratch / coding get started.
I have uploaded to the decentralised peertube instance diode.zone. You can follow on any ActivityPub enabled service by following @zleap@diode.zone
I am not sharing these directly with the Fediverse post publication. This would just flood with videos ( given the frequency I am making & uploading ) and therefore would not look good.

The European Antibiotic Awareness Day is an annual European public health initiative that takes place on 18 November to raise awareness about the threat to public health of antibiotic resistance and the importance of prudent antibiotic use. The latest data confirms that across the European Union the number of patients infected by resistant bacteria is increasing and that antibiotic resistance is a major threat to public health.

Goodbye Twitter
Due to the continuing situation on Twitter and the abysmal treatment of the employees who have worked so hard to build the platform on to be sacked less than a month after the Elon Musk take over.
I am quitting Twitter.
I have been on Mastodon for a good few years now, the culture is far kinder, the conversation is far more intellectual and intelligent. There has been huge influx of new people adding to this culture and providing some really engaging content so the future is looking really good.

If you need help joining up, I suggest contacting your local college or training provider. They should be up-to-date with modern social media and be able to help, if not there are plenty of guides, such as those on Fedi Tips. Once you are signed up we as a community will help you get started etc.
Someone has to make a stand, and so many people are leaving it is no longer worth being on there.
See you on the next generation of social media. This is a place where your privacy is important, there is no tracking, adverts, AI, data, data analytics or other such irrelevant outdated technologies.
