Using invidious

Invidious is a front end to Youtube that strips out tracking and other 'unwanted' and 'unnecessary' features that impact on user privacy. To use the invidious front end you first need the Youtube video URL for example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Is8nZeJNiI

You need to add the latter part in this case :– watch?v=2Is8nZeJNiI to the end of the invidious url

https://invidious.xyz/

So you end up with:

https://invidious.xyz/watch?v=2Is8nZeJNiI

There is also a Firefox Plugin to help with this.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

With more and more websites tracking users, collecting vast amounts of data, more and more people are becoming aware of this, not liking what is happening and starting to make a stand.

With the GDPR in the UK/EU, failing to protect user data and privacy now carries huge financial penalties, as well as, of course, reputational damage.

Time to take back control. Time for business to respect user privacy and data protection.

Duck Duck Go is a privacy friendly and aware search engine that does not track you or your activities online.

Enter your search terms in the box and you can either click the go button or select one of the suggestions.

Clicking back to the search results we can click in the corner (as shown) and add duck duck go to our browser and make it the default search engine (recommended).
