Products from crude Oil

In a previous post I have l listed products from crude oil. This information from obtained from an info graphic.

Following a conversation on Mastodon, I am reposing this list, with the view of getting some assistance in researching the following:-

  1. Information about each product
  2. How is this produced from Oil ? 3 Can this be made in other ways, but alternative methods should also be more sustainable. For example PVC can be made, but it is more energy intensive (so that is not an option) ?
  3. Can we do without this product altogether ? 4a What alternatives are available or can be produced or used ?

It is important to apply critical thinking at all stages here.
