Now I am...

...listening to Xasthur “Telepathic With The Deceased” off of the album Telepathic With The Deceased which is the first song on my “darkness” playlist on Spotify. It has a good amount of Black Metal on it, but some other genres, too, that may not be considered “directly” Black Metal. The classic stuff (early-1990's) out of Norway is still some of my favorites. And if anyone is interested – check out the documentary “Until The Light Takes Us” about the mayhem (pardon the pun) of that era. Crazy stuff.

As much as I like Black Metal (or just metal in general), I never really got big into Bathory or Celtic Frost or Venom or anything like that (basically the stuff that started Black Metal in the early/mid-1980's). But just metal as a genre is my jam. Suicide Silence for example is considered Deathcore, but I just consider it “metal” and don't get too hung up on what each genre can be referred to as. For example; Dragged Into Sunlight I consider to be a totally different genre in-and-of itself. I don't even know what you would call those guys? Or iwrestledabearonce (IWABO) – what are they? Metal? Screamo? Like, what is happening?

Burzum is up next.

Feeling Refreshed

Probably the coffee I am having. My second favorite roast: Boyd's Original Roast (Boyd's Red Wagon roast being my first favorite). From Portland, OR. and this stuff is incredible and I don't know why they ship it all the way to STL, but they do, and I am grateful for that.

I fucking love the album “Drones” by Muse. Seriously a deep and intense album. Listening to “Mercy” now and this song (and entire album) got me through a rough time in 2015, and I am eternally grateful for that, as well.

I am not sure what else to write.

Wow.

Probably could've died because of technology. Let me explain:

I got home this afternoon, and the Elipsis Jetpack (4G LTE hotspot by Verizon) was shut off. It was off because I turned it off because I would be gone for the day. Upon rebooting, it would not sync properly with devices, incl the RPi, and SOME pages would load, others WOULDN'T. So I tried troubleshooting with the Pi. This resulted in me almost bricking the Pi. Which resulted in me being this close from wind-sprinting up to the gas station to buy a flask of booze to drown myself with. I was sooooo pissed.

Anyway, I let the hotspot run the rest of the night and the battery finally dies, I plug it in, reboot, and everything works fine again. I then dug out the RPi and monitor from the closet (I had retired them because I was sure the WiFi was permanently fucked), and set it up – and now I am up and running again.

So, now things are ok, I guess. I am never shutting that hotspot off again, nor unplugging it. In total, I would have been out ~$350 if the system had stopped working

  • $70 + tax for the “Unlimited” Verizon card
  • $50 + tax for the Jetpack LTE hotspot
  • $100 for the RPi CanaKit
  • $100 for the 1080p monitor
  • plus other expenses I cannot think of right now

Oh, and in the fury and frustration, I e-mailed hello[at]write.as and requested they delete my blog (tmo.writeas.com) over on that service (even though this is kind of the same service). I am sick of being on the read.write.as community of people who are all broken and twisted. That blog got exactly 1,003 blog posts and the request to delete the blog was exactly on the one year anniversary of that blog's existence. Fuck it, I'm done with it.

A Personal Journal Of My Own

(when I should really be working)

#Introductions I am TMO and I am a writer, college student (Spring 2020), and sometimes I build Websites. I have been on write.as for years now (about 3), and my blog on there is https://tmo.writeas.com. I have been on that blog, in particular, for almost exactly 1 year. I am in and from St Louis, Missouri, USA, and I try to keep myself very busy.

That's all for now!
