PC Build 3
On Saturday 8th May, we carried on building and fixing computers. Firstly we got the Lenovo Laptop trackpad working, started off partly stripping this, but were initially unsuccessful, after a break, and asking on IRC for suggestions, we went back to this and fully stripped it, and got it working. We installed Windows 8.1 on this, then using the Driver booster tool to help locate the drivers ensured the right drivers etc were up and running.
We also had a look at the Dell laptop, cleaned off thermal paste and determined there was no actual CMOS battery at all, this has been ordered.
Furthermore, we also replaced speakers in another Dell Laptop as these were faulty.
We now have some cleaning gel and a keyboard brush set, so we cleaned some more keyboards.
We also bought some games from the Rowcroft charity shop so have installed these, I can now play C&C 3 at home.
The plan now is to further fix up the Viglen desktop computer and get this working, fix a window install on a Sony Viao. We will also be getting two laptops from Phil so need to get these cleaned, and an OS installed.
