Legionnaires' disease

I have been following a conversation on LinkedIn that is suggesting that as many places are closed during the Covid 19 lock down, there could be lots of stagnant water in plumbing which is an ideal breeding ground for water borne diseases such as Legionella [1].

As a result any easing of lock down and reopening of businesses, schools, gyms, and leisure centres, or it seems anywhere that provides access to water, should be combined with measures and funding in place that will ensure these systems are 'flushed' and cleansed fully before re opening.

Interesting discussion and will be interesting to see where the money comes from for this.
