CD Ripping

I recently tried to use a program called RipperX to rip a music cd and encode in to mp3 or ogg vorbis.

The use of this software failed, as it was unable to connect to the cddb information database URL provided, and was also unable to connect to another database, which I found.

I set about looking for an alternative in the Linuxmint Repositories and found a program called Asander.

Asander

This works really well, and actually connects correctly to the database and pulls in the track information. The default file format is ogg, vorbis (.ogg) which is fine, if you want .mp3, you need to install other software.
