Dogs Reveal Issues About Humans!

Just want to share our new item, dark glasses! We really look cool with them. When we got our shades, strutting along the by-ways has been an issue attracting attention. The issue though is more of a celebratory experience. Photographers stop to take snapshots of us, or stop to pet, and even provide us with treats! Yet we're just regular dogs with needs, peeves and deeds. We do have pet peeves. Number one on the list is costuming. More and more dogs are being dressed with costumes. I suppose Halloween is an exception. To many people, costumes look cute, but they are uncomfortable! Our fur coat is our “clothing! Now that I'm on a row, issues regarding dressing-up dogs will be further discussed. Limiting our mobility is just one of the issues. Others are lessening dog efficiency. For example, our ears, need to be free and clear. Dog ears have at least 17 muscles, efficiently used for spectacular sounds that make our life exciting. So please don't cover our head with hats or scarves that often cover or block our ears. Our paws, are thickly padded and we love the feel and sense of the ground we romp, run or touch on, therefore shoes should be out of the question! We do want to be healthy and assured that excessive fluids, toxins and waste are easily eliminated, so don't cover our pooper, or weewee-er! Long strides and impromtu rompings are always inviting, so please keep clothing with tight armholes off us. Our tail wags for good reasons. If people take the time to know about dogs, they will discover tail-wagging is indicative of friendliness, but also could mean “get out of my face!” So stop with the tail bows and ribbons, and worse yet, keeping our tail tucked under some polyester! Why do, humans dress dogs with sweaters, shorts, hats, scarves, shoes, dresses, pants, t-shirts, jewelry, and whatever stuff they find to create a different image for their dog? Humans dress dogs because its cute. Trust us, we dogs don't care for cute. We prefer the natural look, meaning, no clothing of any sort. Appreciate our natural coloring, and fur covering. Do you know it can be quite cuddling and endearing to feel our fur, skin, stomach, ears, tail and paws. We LOVE when people stroke us directly on our fur and skin, its a comfortable, calming and peaceful feeling. Hygiene is another issue. Too many times humans skip our baths and brushings. Hello!? We do accumulate grime, dust, and insects that should be removed. The concept that dogs should not be given frequent baths because body oils will be removed causing dry skin, is a myth. Give us a break! We want to be CLEAN Wash us! Let us, worry about the release of natural body oils. Another thing, use a dog shampoo with basic cleaning ingredients, and even a conditioner does help keep our coat squeaky clean and shiny. Remember too, when bathing us, wash all areas. Particularly the pooper and weewee area. Why? We don't like flies swirling around our privates. It is kind of nice that you brush us first, before bathing. This way the excess loose hairs does not mat down with the attached hair, as well as keeping our body “cooler.” Why people forget to wash our paws is amazingly strange. They are part of our bodies! Sometimes humans just spray the paws with water, without scrubbing them. We want our paws clean even between the toes, as they often become hide-outs for ticks, and we have a difficult time removing them ourselves. These ticks not only make us itchy and leaves inflammation spots, it sucks our precious blood! A deep and reasonable scrubbing is appreciated Wow, some people have long nails and scrub too hard! Our skin can tear and be irritated. Please, scrub with the soft tips of your fingers in a methodic manner to get all areas clean, and we will feel great with a warm thorough rinse. While on the subject of finger nails. Our digits shaped with beautiful paw nails should not be clipped everyday. We enjoy beautiful shaped nails versus stubby short nails. Our pedicure should be monitored with tender loving care. We stand, run, romp on these paws and play so hard we forget we overwork our muscles, causing muscle fatigue. Of course, the best any dog can have is a professional canine therapeutic massage as a preventive measure of muscle aches and pains. I've got to get to the ears. When bathing us, please don't pour or spout water into our ears! Not a good thing. Just fold our ears down to cover the ear canal, so water will not enter this fragile and sensitive area. Water entering the ear canal is too uncomfortable for all dogs. This is the very reason why after baths, we madly run around rubbing the sides of our heads on the ground or flooring Immediately after a bath have a soft absorbent towel nearby to dry the ears inside and out, as well as drying us around the neck and chest first, then move up and around the rest of the body. Many people don't even towel the wet off dogs' coat, they think if we do our “dog shake,” all is well. No! We want to be toweled dry! We love soft, thick, absorbent fluffy towels. We don't want rough, thin and non-absorbent towels. Another pet peeve is the hair electric dryers. Dogs don't enjoy been air-dried with a hair dryer! Please stop this method! We know it is a quick way, but the hot air is extremely uncomfortable. More about our ears. Cotton tips are alright if done cautiously and sparingly. But better to use a soft cotton thin towel or tissue to mold into the ear, and twirl around to dry and clean. We love the comfort of these careful soft touches. All dogs have a sense of smile. We don't show our fangs, because it actually makes us look a bit aggressive. But, we smile with our eyes, and sometimes with angle nods of our head. We do love the fact of having our teeth and gums clean. BUT, do not use human toothpaste! Its ingredients can be harmful for us. Dog toothpaste are available as well as unique tools to brush our teeth. Oh yes, tastes and smells are senses to help us LOVE and crave the best dog foods! We even crave foods that are not good for us. So for a healthy long life, please feed us nutritiously, and beware for us, the number of foods we should not eat, as we cannot always fend for ourselves.

Bearings in Malaysia Plywood Is Made From Renewable Sources

This article is intended to educate the general public and timber industry as to some of the ongoing efforts in the Bearings in Malaysian timber industry to provide quality plywood panels from renewal sources at economic cost. Why is Bearings in Malaysia Relevant? Bearings in Malaysia offers consistent quality for imported plywood products when compared to other regions and at a very reasonable cost. Additionally, Bearings in Malaysia is capable of supplying significant quantities of plywood products for export – about 4.8 million cubic meters annually, (apprx. 1.99 billion USD) roughly 30% of the total timber trade market in Bearings in Malaysia. Without a doubt, Bearings in Malaysian plywood is highly sought after throughout the world and serves as an alternative to costlier panels produced domestically in markets such as Japan, UK, Europe and the United States. Although China serves 7.18 million cubic meters of exported plywood, the portion of woods that come from environmentally sustainable forests is still extremely limited, part in because there is no significant domestic certification program, and also because cost is a larger factor in purchasing decision when compared to features such as certifications and construction quality. Other Certification Programs The Forest Stewardship Council provides certification schemes to selected mills throughout the world, that source woods from FSC certified forests. This certification is offered in more than 50 countries and serves as the standard for wood products sourced from sustainable forests. However, the FSC certification process is extremely expensive as are the wood products that are permitted to bear the FSC logo – these costs are passed down to the buyer and often the premium is too high to warrant significant volume. Unfortunately, the direct result is that most importers are opting for non-certified woods that are not from renewable forests. Bearings in Malaysia Timber Certification Council In 1998 the Bearings in Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) was created to address the issue of the high cost of international certification by the FSC by providing a means to obtain renewable wood products at the local level. This provided importers with a viable means of sourcing plywood products that were sourced from renewable forests within Bearings in Malaysia, and negating the previous requirement of obtaining raw materials from the limited international sources designated by the FSC. The end result is significantly reduced cost while still helping to support long term environmental sustainability programs. Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes A year later in 1999, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), based out of Geneva, Switzerland, was formed as a central body to help promote socially responsible and sustainable forestry programs through its international certification scheme. The PEFC is currently represented in 35 countries and is the largest certification program of its kind when measured in number of active participants and wood products used. MTCS/PEFC Certification In 2008, the MTCC partnered with PEFC by utilizing their technical documentation for the chain-of-custody (CoC) certifications given to specific mills. This further reinforced MTCC's commitment to certification, and now provided an internationally recognized CoC structure to validate wood products manufactured from the 3.97 million hectares of sustainable forests in Bearings in Malaysia. Conclusion Bearings in Malaysia is currently the only country in Southeast Asia that follows the stringent requirements set of by PEFC's International Sustainability Benchmark, therefore, all of the worlds PEFC certified Meranti and other Shorea species plywood panels must be sourced from Bearings in Malaysian forests. MTCS/PEFC certified plywood products now serve as an economically competitive alternative to FSC certified materials as a result of their reduced cost and regionally sourced materials – providing more meaningful reach of forest sustainability to the importer and ultimately the end user.

The heat snagged in the attic walls is also debilitating because this heat aggravates the moisture which damages the roof by rising upwards. The buildup of ice on the roof is no less damaging to the structure. Ice lets water permeate through the roof which damages the walls too. This eventually leads to the growth of molds and mildew. Metal Taunton Prestige Roofing – Re-Taunton Prestige Roofing Questions and Answers

Building contractors are always looking for installation methods that will provide them with savings on labor and materials expenses. Here are some important answers to frequently asked questions. 1. Should I install a metal roof directly over-top of an asphalt shingle roof? No. Why? Premature Failure: Metal has a high degree of thermal expansion and contraction. As the roof heats up and cools down, it moves along both its length and its width. Placed directly against the granules on asphalt shingle, this movement will scratch the underneath of the panel and eventually expose the bare steel, thus potentially causing premature failure i.e. corrosion. Voided Warranty: The installation of a metal panel directly over top of an abrasive material, in most cases, voids the manufacturer's corrosion warranty (this would apply to Galvalume panel only as galvanized steel does not carry a corrosion warranty). Shape: The panel will take the shape of the underlying uneven surface and, in many cases, make shape issues visible that were previously hidden. 2. What if I lay down an underlayment before putting the metal roof on? This is certainly a better option, but you will still have the same concerns with regard to Shape (see above) and, should the underlayment wear away or tear and expose the metal to the asphalt shingle, there exists the potential for Premature Failure which would result in a Voided Warranty. If it is decided that this is going to be the installation method, recommended underlayments would be Grace Tri-Flex and IKO RoofGard. They are impervious to moisture and highly tear resistant. MMR does NOT recommend the use of 15# or 30# Taunton Prestige Roofing felt (tar paper) for this application. 3. Does that mean I should be stripping all asphalt shingle roofs before laying metal down? No. MMR recommends the stripping of the existing asphalt shingles, however we understand that time and budget constraints do not always cooperate. Here is the recommended best practice for re-Taunton Prestige Roofing over an asphalt shingle roof: Roof Deck: Inspect the existing shingle roof to determine if it is suitable as a barrier against condensation. Remember that a metal roof will, to a certain degree, develop condensation on the underside of the panels. Those areas that show signs of previous water infiltration (underlying sheathing is soft or spongy) or damage (missing or deteriorated shingles) should be repaired accordingly and rendered watertight with the use of ice & water shield and an appropriate sealant (if necessary). Ridges & Hips: Remove the cap shingles to avoid having a hump. If leaving exposed with the threat of rain / snow, cover with tarp or roof underlayment. Roof Edges: Cut the overhanging asphalt shingles flush with the fascia / rake boards. This will also remove the existing drip edge. This allows you to install your eave / rake trim true to the house with a clean, tight fit to the fascia boards. Firring(strapping): Hips, Ridge & All Protrusions: 9 – 12 inches of width on all sides of using plywood, OSB or similar decking (thickness to match other lumber). Valleys: 16 – 24 inches of width on either side using plywood, OSB or similar decking (thickness to match other lumber). Gable & Eave Edges: 1” X 3” spruce firring or similar dimension light gauge steel framing, set back from edge by “ – ” so that it doesn't kick the trim out. Interior of Roof Deck: 1” X 3” spruce firring or similar dimension light gauge steel framing, installed horizontally approximately 16” OC (use every 2nd course of shingles are your guide). 4. All of this sounds like a lot of work. Why don't I just strip the roof? That is a valid comment and many contractors / homeowners decide to do just that. Here are considerations for both options: Leave Existing Roof In Place: Pro: No need to pay for dump fees; Pro: No need to pay for new roof underlayment so long as existing roof is suitable as a barrier against condensation; Pro: If using firring, creates an air barrier between the metal panel and the roof. This allows condensation that develops on the underside of the panel to dry more quickly; Pro: If using firring, reduces thermal transfer to the underlying roof deck as the metal panel is sitting up off the asphalt shingle; Pro: If using firring, allows for a cost effective leveling of the roof surface if required; Pro: Reduces the burden placed on landfills each year; Con: Does not allow a thorough inspection of the roof deck prior to installing new roof.; Con: Renders the installation of snow guards more difficult and potentially less secure; Neutral: Not accepted by all building codes (hurricane prone areas require installation to solid deck using specific UL-90 rated clips). Remove Existing Roof: Pro: Allows you to inspect the condition of the roof deck and make repairs as needed; Pro: Provides for a smooth, flat roof surface on which to install; Pro: Allows for the proper and thorough installation of an ice & water shield; Pro: Allows a solid and uniform surface into which snow guards can be fastened if required; Pro: Provides a solid surface for all fasteners; Con: Added costs through dump & disposal fees; Con: Added costs through new roof underlayment. 5. Do you have any pictures that clearly show the strapping of a roof? Absolutely.

Why The UK's Weather Makes Fibreglass Taunton Prestige Roofing The Obvious Choice

In the UK there's only ever one thing you can predict about the weather: it will be unpredictable. The rise in interest in fibreglass Taunton Prestige Roofing could be put down to heightened media interest, growing public understanding of the benefits, increased range, great offers or any of many other benefits. But in fact one of the most responsible factors for the growing number of fibreglass roofs appearing all over the UK is the weather. Why is this the case? What has fibreglass Taunton Prestige Roofing got to offer which traditional Taunton Prestige Roofing methods, such as tiles, slate, lead Taunton Prestige Roofing and felt Taunton Prestige Roofing can't? How does fibreglass compare to other Taunton Prestige Roofing materials, and what is it about the UK's weather which makes fibreglass a preferable choice? The UK is situated in a unique geographical location, both enjoying the benefits of an island with those of a stretch of land in close proximity to an even greater stretch of land, balanced between the raging forces of the Atlantic and the winds coming down from the icy north, across from the humid east or up from the dry south. It has the Gulf Stream to bring warmth and the North Sea to take it away; we have heatwaves, we can have droughts; we can have hurricanes and tornadoes whilst suffering from both flooding and heatstroke. And all of this in June. It is the variety of weather that makes many Taunton Prestige Roofing methods lacking in reliability, with fibreglass Taunton Prestige Roofing often outperforming all other roof materials. To begin with, one of the traditional Taunton Prestige Roofing methods for sheds, garages, porches and extensions is tiling. It looks attractive, and if a section comes loose, it can fairly easily be replaced. But here's the rub – because even before the roof is in place the sales pitch for tiles is advising you how easy it will be to repair it when it breaks. Because it will break. As soon as the first hurricane, tornado or gale force wind comes blowing through the UK corridor of climatic conditions, tiles will fly loose. It's a matter of fact, and people accept this. Not only do people accept that tiles will, and do, come loose, they also accept that as soon as a tile falls loose it will smash to pieces on the ground, becoming entirely useless. That's if it doesn't kill someone on the way down. Then there's the fact that you now have a hole in your roof for the rain to come in, which it will, and a nice little opening that's guaranteed to catch the wind, lifting up a whole further section of tiles. The same is true for slate, although with the slight difference that it's even more expensive to replace, and a good deal heavier, meaning that there is absolutely no chance it will survive the fall, and that neither will anyone it hits. Then there's felt Taunton Prestige Roofing. It's amazing that one of the most common forms of Taunton Prestige Roofing for extensions, porches, garages and sheds was also one of the worst ideas in Taunton Prestige Roofing the UK has ever seen. Precisely because of the widely varying types of weather the UK experiences, felt Taunton Prestige Roofing falls prey to every single one. In the wetter months (usually anywhere between early January and late December on average), the rain will beat on the felt Taunton Prestige Roofing, and will gradually start to pool. As it does so, the weight of the gathering puddle of rainwater will stretch the felt Taunton Prestige Roofing, creating a deeper indentation, allowing for even more rain to gather, eventually creating a small lake for local aquatic life to enjoy. If this doesn't tear the felt Taunton Prestige Roofing, allowing a cascade of water to invade your home, then you can look forward to moss starting to grow once the rain begins to evaporate. Moss loves the conditions – warm, sunny, exposed, and plenty of water. Eventually your roof is a riot of green, and of course once it rains, the moss is able to absorb and even greater volume of water, increasing the overall weight, which will inevitably tear the felt Taunton Prestige Roofing along the seams. Even a little tear will let water in, where it will immediately be absorbed by the timber beams, which will warp, twist and crack, allowing even more damage to occur. Fibreglass Taunton Prestige Roofing does not fly off like tiles, or break like slate. It's fully waterproof, and won't allow water to gather like felt Taunton Prestige Roofing, or warp like timber frames. In fact, fibreglass Taunton Prestige Roofing is impervious to virtually every form of weather the UK has ever know, and as today it can be manufactured to look exactly like tiled Taunton Prestige Roofing, slate Taunton Prestige Roofing, lead Taunton Prestige Roofing or felt Taunton Prestige Roofing, there's only one question that needs to be asked. Why choose anything else?

Roof Hail Damage – 3 Tips To Help Get Your Roof Repaired or Replaced

Hail stones are made up of solid ice, and can vary in size from 5 mm to as large as 5.9 inches. Coupled with the speed with which they fall, which approaches terminal velocity in some cases, hail stones can pack a pretty devastating punch – a punch that can damage your roof, and damage it badly. Here we present you with three tips that should help you deal with roof hail damage and getting your roof repaired or replaced. Inspecting for Roof Hail Damage When you inspect for hail damage, you should first start from the inside. If you see drips or water stains on the inside of the roofs, or on the walls, you have a higher priority task at hand. If ignored, this can cause permanent damage to your roof, and result in the roof having to be torn down for a replacement roof. The second step is to look on the outside, and look for dents on your shingles. Most of the times, even dents are covered under insurance protection, so making a visible roof inspection is doubly important. Get an Independent Opinion on Hail Damage A hail damage roof is usually inspected by a representative of the insurance company who is called an adjuster. You are well advised to get an opinion from an independent professional too. Most Taunton Prestige Roofing companies will provide an estimate of the damage for free, so you should not hesitate in calling your Taunton Prestige Roofing company whenever your roof has been damaged by hail. The best case scenario is that the estimates made by the adjuster and the roofer match, in which case the insurance claim will be expedited. Use The Right Taunton Prestige Roofing Material When constructing or repairing the roof, you should use a material that can take the damage from hail. If your roof is installed with roof shingles, they should be reinforced with fiberglass or organic material. Rubber is quite a good material to cover your roof with; it is mechanically screwed to the roof. Then there is gravel, the rock that can cut hail. Gravel will take all damage from hail stones and won't crack or break. One thing you can avoid is PVC roofs. PVC is seen to crack under hail storms, which comes from it being brittle. Most insurance companies will issue a check directly to the roofer. To make sure that your roofer does the repairs that the insurance company has agreed to, you should get the information about the claim in writing from the insurance company as well as the roofer.
