Localhost tracking

This seems to be the latest tactic META are using to track users without their consent. Potentially a violation of at least 3 laws in the EU.

• “Localhost tracking” explained. It could cost Meta 32 billion.

• GDPR, DMA, and DSA protect different legal interests, so the penalties under each can be imposed cumulatively.*

Update, well sort of, Meta is now going to use unpublished photos to train AI.

• Facebook is starting to feed its AI with private, unpublished photos

So as the article states, check the terms and conditions and keep checking back.

Now ask your self, are your WhatsApp messages really private. Critical thinking ftw.

Citing posts on Mastodon

As I have an interest in Science, and am on a STEM based Mastodon instance 'qoto' [1]. I suggested a feature which helps users cite individual posts (if writing a paper for example).

This has now been added to the issue tracker [2]. The actual issue suggestion can be found at [3]. At present this is a very rough idea.
