Thoughts on SR #77
Here are my thoughts on SR #77.
Samsung makes devices with horrible low-level device architecture
(I think self-encryption cryptography would be a very low level aspect of a device, right?)
Samsung screwed up device encryption implementation big time.
How about MKBHD cover real news for once?
Anyways, here's the listing for the paper and the PDF of the paper itself.
Apparently the later this year for the USENIX 2022 conference. Some significant security research presentations happen at the USENIX conference.
Privacy is now a socio-economic luxury
A tech article now says privacy is a luxury or privilege.
The IEEE article is actually open access (for some reason).
Not using Sci-Hub is pretty cool, since the site hasn't been able to add new papers since the FBI is investigating the Apple account of the woman running the whole thing in early 2020.
Not sure how I will be able to get paywalled academic papers published after 2020...
PenLink in Nebraska are selling police simping as a service
According to a new article from Apple Insider, Apple iCloud is a gold mine for law enforcement — unless you're keen enough to encrypt the backup before sending it to iCloud.
Even then, I call BS on anything from Apple (remember Pegasus and the iMessage CSAM scanning debacle? I still do...) and wouldn't even touch it with a 50-foot pole.
Also, who still uses Snapchat? Instagram has effectively killed Snapchat with IG Stories. People think that making a post is shoving a picture onto Stories...
Also, the original Forbes article mentions how ICE is involved in this.
I guess the Kaczynskian socialized leftists that make up the Apple cult don't want to admit to the reality that their entire gilded garden prison disguised as a Get Out-styled nursing home contributes to ICE and CBP, as discussed in the 2021 Cato Surveillance Conference flash talk “Targeted but Not Silenced” by Julie Mao.
Missouri's governor should be sentenced to death and more for not understanding $2+2=4$
Stories like Missouri's governor trying to prosecute the journalist a bunch of teacher's PII (including SSN) have now been legally ended drive me up the wall and far, far away from this Solar System...
However, that doesn't mean that this governor; his entire cadre of cronies; and all of his family members and friends up to and including those removed by 3 degrees of separation should ever be allowed to go to Heaven, but instead burn in an uncountable infinite number of Hells — because we all know all too well that even a single Hell doesn't last long enough.
That's all I'll say before somehow the Secret Service starts investigating this Write Freely account...
